Talk: Leveraging Amazon Web Services Serverless Technology in Node.js
AWS Polly is serverless and near real-time AI technology that turns user generated text into lifelike speech. Polly lets you create applications that speak, enabling developers to build an entirely new category of communication-enabled applications within an advanced serverless environment. Provided that Polly is serverless, this means that developers can focus on the task at hand and not the infrastructure requirements to host their application.
Starting from scratch, we will use Polly to build a serverless application that generates an MP3 file from pure text and talk through best practices for achieving optimal performance for your near real-time app. By the end of the talk, developers in the audience will have a strong understanding of how to build a full Node.js app leveraging multiple cloud services – Polly, API Gateway, S3, Twilio and MongoDB Atlas.
